WADA A2 Corps Members Certification and Gifting

On March 4, 2025, the War Against Drug Abuse (WADA) A2 Corps Members Certification and Gifting event took place as part of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) Nigeria community development service initiative. This impactful program was designed to recognize and celebrate corps members who played an active role in the fight against drug abuse within their host communities. During the event, WADA certifications were awarded to corps members in appreciation of their dedication to drug abuse awareness and prevention campaigns. Additionally, branded jotters were presented as commemorative gift items to honor their contributions. The event also featured the distribution of National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) certifications, reinforcing the importance of their efforts in promoting a drug-free society. This initiative highlights the unwavering commitment of NYSC and its corps members to social responsibility, youth empowerment, and nationwide advocacy against drug abuse. Through WADA, we continue to inspire positive change and foster a healthier future for all.

On 18th February 2025, War Against Drug Abuse (WADA) took a bold step in the fight against drug addiction by organizing a comprehensive sensitization program at Crowther Memorial School in Lokoja. The outreach focused on enlightening Senior Secondary School 2 and 3 students about the devastating effects of drug abuse on individuals, families, and society. Through engaging talks, interactive discussions, and educational materials, the corps members emphasized the dangers of drug experimentation and addiction, including its impact on mental health, academic performance, and future opportunities. Highlights of the program included: Welcome address by the school administration. A motivational talk delivered by corps members on the importance of making wise lifestyle choices. Real-life stories and case studies shared to drive home the consequences of drug misuse. Q&A session where students asked questions and received candid, helpful answers. Distribution of awareness materials such as flyers and posters promoting a drug-free life. The students were encouraged to become champions of change in their school and community by spreading awareness and standing firm against peer pressure. The event was a huge success, fostering not only awareness but also hope for a drug-free generation. The commitment and passion of the Batch A Stream 2 corps members played a vital role in delivering this important message and leaving a lasting impact on the young minds present. Together, we say: “Your Life, Your Future—Say No to Drugs!”

On January 14, 2025, the War Against Drug Abuse (WADA) A1 Corps Members Certification and Handover ceremony was held as part of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) Nigeria community development service. This event recognized the dedication and impact of corps members in raising awareness and combating drug abuse within their host communities. During the ceremony, WADA certifications were awarded to corps members who actively participated in sensitization campaigns and advocacy programs against drug abuse. The event also marked the handover to the next cohort of corps members, ensuring the continuity of the WADA initiative and its mission to create a drug-free society. Through this initiative, NYSC and its corps members reaffirm their commitment to social responsibility, youth empowerment, and nationwide drug abuse prevention efforts.
